Complies with MISRA C:2012 and SEI CERT C Standards for Mission-Critical Software

The automotive industry responded to highly publicized issues of quality control by adopting two complementary standards for developing safe and secure mission-critical software – MISRA C:2012 and SEI CERT C.

These standards contain hundreds of rules and recommendations. A key thrust of both standards is to embed safety into the low-level code directly, rather than to rely on third-party compilers and other software tools to generate safe code.

Although the automotive industry as a whole will need years to bring legacy systems into compliance, SmartPedal already complies with the applicable rules and recommendations, specifically achieving SEI CERT C/2015 and MISRA C:2012 C99 (ISO/IEC 9899:1999) compliance with approved exceptions.
