Because electrical values such as resistance change as components age or develop faults, SmartPedal contains additional circuitry to re-read all outbound values transmitted over the dual signal-out lines.
The purpose of the re-read circuitry is to validate that the actual values transmitted to the engine reflect the values intended to be communicated.
To perform this validation, the re-read values are compared against the originally transmitted signal-out values. If the differences are within a predefined tolerance range, SmartPedal proceeds with the signal corrections.
If the signal-out values are outside the norm, SmartPedal attempts correction internally. If the values are not correctable, SmartPedal engages the pass-through switch and starts recovery operations.
The entire process is designed to be seamless to the vehicle operator.
